• Brings in the specific expertise on ESG, sustainable finance, strategic thinking and underpinning the sustainability strategy with a business case.


• Develops the sustainability strategy in close collaboration with stakeholders, taking into account the bank's objectives and segments, regulatory requirements and risks, the group's strategy and policy.


• Integrates in the strategy the decarbonization aspects for the bank, with the respective involved functions and segments.


• Integrates in the strategy lessons learned of the first CSRD and double materiality assessment efforts.


• Integrates customer and market insights from customers and other stakeholders in the strategy.


• Establishes sustainability performance indicators to measure and monitor the strategy


• Elaborates an underpinning business case for the sustainability strategy


• Supports the translation of the strategy into an actionable roadmap, with measurable defined goals, priorities, and initiatives.

• Dutch & French (strong written and spoken communication skills in one language with a good understanding of the other), English (main language spoken in the team, strong written and spoken communication skills).


• Familiarity with net zero banking, decarbonization, non-financial metrics


• Knowledge on reporting and related sustainability frameworks (ESRS, CSRD, EU taxonomy etc.)


• General knowledge of the main issues and challenges associated within the field of sustainability, sustainable finance, and data, data quality, processes and the regulatory framework relevant to banks


• Up-to-date with the latest trends in the sector regarding sustainability and technology


• Knowledge of business in relation to sustainable finance


• Ability to develop strategic thinking


• Ability to elaborate a business case in support on the refined strategy
